ENDA has developed a map to show the municipal wastewater treatment plants in Germany with information about size and treatment capacity. The interactive and descriptive map was commissioned by the Federal Environment Agency.
The information basis is the municipal wastewater directive, for which data on the wastewater situation in settlements and large cities, on wastewater treatment plants and on wastewater discharge points are transmitted to the European Commission approximately every 18 months.
The map covering Germany shows the following data on municipal sewage treatment plants:
- Name, location and reporting year
- Sewage plant size (PE, person equivalents) and size class
- Nitrogen and phosphorus load in the effluent of the wastewater treatment plant
- Discharge water, river basin and river unit
- Technical equipment
